What is Education Access?

About the cause: Millions of students in the United States go to school without the supplies necessary for learning. Each year, the Kids In Need Foundation helps nearly 200,000 teachers and more than 5 million students. For 25 years, they have distributed more than $1 billion in supplies to kids who would otherwise go without.

About the event: Support the Kids In Need Foundation right from home! The Education Access Project delivers school supplies to students in your local community. The kits are designed to be fun and to inspire the kids to go to school and stay in school. You can add your own touch and message to each kit by drawing fun pictures on the bags, and leaving notes of encouragement so the students know they have someone cheering for them!

What does your experience come with?

  • Self-Guided Event
    We provide detailed videos and instructions to have the perfect volunteer experience!
  • School Supplies
    Each box contains many of the school supplies needed by underprivileged students. These supplies are very specific and are sourced in relation to what the schools need in your community. Pencils, notebooks, crayons, globes, and more all go into the kit!
  • Sharpies
    There is an art component to this event. All of the school supplies go into canvas bags. Draw on the bags and make the education kit something truly special for a child.
  • Pre-paid Shipping Labels
    Shipping is easy! Attach the pre-paid shipping labels and USPS will pick your package up at a day and time that works best for you.
  • Impact Report
    There’s more to this experience than meets the eye. We send a thank you email with details on the impact you created!

Where do my completed packs go?

Your packs will be delivered to the Kids In Need Foundation headquarters in Minnesota. From there, they are delivered to schools and teachers that have the greatest need throughout the United States!

Can I add my own items?

You may! The items must be new and should fit in the box. Please leave the items outside of the bags.

How do I deliver my completed packs to the Kids In Need Foundation?

Your box will come with a pre-paid shipping label. Simply attach that label over the original label and use the provided link to schedule your pick-up at a date and time that works best for you! You can also drop the box off at your local post office.
