What is Stitch Up?

About the cause: Why extend the life of our gear and clothing? Because the best thing we can do for the planet is cut down on consumption and get more use out of stuff we already own. Keeping clothing in use just nine extra months can reduce the related carbon, water and waste footprints by 20-30%.

What we’ll do: We’re fixing used clothing to be worn yet again! This event is very educational, teaching employees how to sew, patch and make something we use everyday last longer. Team members can bring their own clothing to be repaired or WeHero will provide clothing that needs repair so that it can be donated to those in need. In addition to repairing clothing, we’ll teach your team how to make a gift like a wallet for a family member out of old clothing.

How It Works

WeHero DIY events are designed to be easy while maximizing impact.

How Many Employees?

Select how many employees you would like to have participate in the event.

We Box It Up

Working with our local partners, we box up sewing/patch kits, damaged clothing, add easy to follow instructions, and ship it to you.

Have Your Event

We provide instructions, a video, and a pre-event call just to make sure you’re ready to go. Don’t worry, it’s easy and our team is always available for support. Encourage your team to bring their own damaged clothing to repair!

Wear/Donate Your Clothing

Your team can now wear the clothing they repaired. Additionally, all the remaining repaired clothing will be donated to a local shelter to be distributed to those in need. Once the event is over, we send a thank you email with details on the impact created!

What does your DIY event come with?

  • Dedicated Event Coach
    After booking your event, you are assigned a WeHero event coach to support you with all items related to your event. We’re here to make sure your event is perfect!
  • Video and Instructions
    We provide a video presentation to share with your team as well as detailed instructions to have the perfect event!
  • Damaged Clothing 
    We provide clothing items that need repair. We encourage everyone to bring their own damaged clothing as well. We also include a DIY wallet kit!
  • Sewing/Patch Kits
    The tools to repair the clothing are provided for all! We provide instructions and guidance for everyone that’s never used a needle before.
  • Sign-in Form
    There’s more to this experience than meets the eye. We’ve provided a form for employees to leave their name and email so we can send you thank you email with details on the impact you created!

Stitch Up


WeHero DIY orders need to be made a minimum of 10 business days before the event date. This event will last for 60 – 90 minutes. If you’d like to have a longer event, have more than 50 participants or need rush shipping, get in touch with us here.

Yes! Our team is here and available to make sure your event is awesome. You’ll find we touch base regularly to make sure all goes smoothly.

Can a WeHero DIY event work for a large group of employees?

Absolutely. These events can scale with the size of your group. You can purchase the event for up to 50 employees directly on our website. If you have more than that, we can still accommodate your event with ease. Please reach out to

Do I need to handle any of the shipping and is it an extra cost?

There is no additional charge for shipping. WeHero handles all of the shipping including having UPS pick up the completed kits from your office when your event is complete.
